LASIK, PRK & ICL
Dr. Rolfsen's refractive cataract work is built for patients who could not afford poor outcomes. That standard of precision carries into every procedure at Waco Ophthalmology.
Blade-free, custom wavefront-guided LASIK corrects nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism in a single outpatient procedure. PRK and ICL (implantable collamer lens) are available for patients who are not LASIK candidates.
Cataract Surgery
Cataracts cloud the natural lens of the eye, progressively dimming and blurring vision. Dr. Rolfsen performs micro-incision phacoemulsification — a technique requiring a wound under 2.4mm — to remove the clouded lens and replace it with a clear intraocular implant.
The procedure typically takes under 15 minutes and is performed in an outpatient surgical center. Most patients notice dramatically improved vision within 24 hours.
Glaucoma
Glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide — and it is largely asymptomatic until significant damage has occurred. Early detection and consistent management are the only defense.
Dr. Rolfsen provides comprehensive glaucoma care: OCT imaging, visual field testing, IOP monitoring, and a full spectrum of treatment from topical drops to minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) and trabeculectomy.
Dry Eye Disease
Chronic dry eye is more than inconvenience — it is a progressive disease of the ocular surface that worsens without targeted treatment. Dr. Rolfsen uses in-office diagnostics to identify the root cause (evaporative vs. aqueous deficient) and tailor therapy accordingly.
Premium Lens Technology
Not all intraocular lenses are equal. Standard monofocal IOLs correct distance vision but still require reading glasses. Premium IOLs go further — some provide a full range of focus, while others are adjustable post-operatively for the sharpest possible result.
Cornea, Retina & Comprehensive Care
Dr. Rolfsen provides comprehensive medical eye care — treating dry eye, monitoring cornea and retina health, and managing corneal scars and ulcers, and provides comprehensive retinal surveillance for diabetic patients and those with macular degeneration.
